There was great excitement today when the victorious Garryspillane team visited with the cup 🏆! They chatted to the children and posed for photos.
Principal Martin Kearney congratulated them on a wonderful team performance and spoke about the great game last Sunday He spoke about how strong hurling is in our parishes 💪. He thanked the team members for taking time to visit the schools and went on to mention the great work done to promote hurling by the schools and how the 4 schools feeding into the club have great involvement with each other as they strive to promote the game.
He spoke about how children from these schools meet up every June for the Ger Power Hurling Day.
Team member Michael Donovan spoke about how he was a young student looking up at the victorious team of 2005 when they won the cup and visited 20 years ago .
Micheál O’Donnell joked 😂 about how disappointed he was that Mrs Byrnes didn’t recognise him 😜.
Robert Samson and Colin Ryan encouraged our boys and girls to keep playing and training 💪
The highlight of the visit was the offer of homework off 📝❌!
